How to Send Mail or Package

Letters may be up to three pages with writing on the front side only. Greeting cards are not accepted. Photos must be no larger than 5×7” and must be mailed directly from a retailer such as Wal-Mart, Shutterfly, or Free Prints. No coloring book, magazine, book, or newspaper pages are accepted, nor is any item with tape, glue, stickers, or drawings. All mail must include the sender’s full name and return address. Money orders made out to the inmate may be mailed to the same address. Commissary packages may also be purchased online at the Inmate Canteen website and shipped directly to inmates.

Visitation Hours

Visitation appointments can be made Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. A visitor application must be filled out and is available online. Visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. They may be scheduled by calling 816-586-5245. Two adult visitors and two minors may attend each visit. Visits last 30 minutes and inmates are allowed one visit per day. All visits are non-contact.

The Caldwell County jail is operated and maintained by the local Sheriff’s Office. JMitchell K. Allen is the current Sheriff. The office’s administrative hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm.
