The average daily inmate population fluctuates and was 51 in 2019. Polk County sometimes houses inmates in other county jails, which costs $45 per inmate per day. The Jail Administrator is Jennifer Harris and the Assistant Jail Administrator is Ricky Gooding. The staff also includes Sgt. Anita Norris, Shannon Andrews, Mike Kootz, and Terri Elmore.

Commissary packages may be ordered and then shipped directly to inmates through the Tiger Commissary website.

Visitation Hours

Visitation is held by video and operated by CIDNET. There is a visitation kiosk in the lobby. Using the kiosk requires prior approval from the Jail Administrator. Visitation is scheduled on Sundays. The CIDNET website may be used to schedule and purchase video visits.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office operates the county jail. Danny Morrison has been Sheriff since 2017. The Undersheriff is Rod Parks. The Patrol Division employs 14 deputies and is supervised by Sgt. Mike Johnson and Sgt. Abe Dickerson. The office’s administrative hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm.
