The Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center has a capacity of 300 detainees. The staff includes 35 full time deputies/correctional officers. The Jail Administrator is Lt. Andrew Johnson.

The jail roster may be searched online at VineLink. The roster is searchable by an inmate’s full or partial name or ID number. Information provided includes inmates’ identifying details, arrest, booking, bond, charge, and release information, and mugshots, when available.

How to Send Mail or Package

Personal mail to inmates must contain the sender’s full name and return address. Photographs may be no larger than 4×6”. Mail must not contain any form of currency, stamps, stickers, glue, marker, highlighter, crayon, colored pencils, lipstick, perfume, or any other foreign substance. Paperback books, newspapers, and magazines must be mailed directly from the publisher or bookstore. Local newspapers will be allowed but subject to redaction

CityTeleCoin operates commissary, as well as phone accounts. Funds may be added to inmates’ accounts at a kiosk in the visitation lobby or on the CityTeleCoin website. There is also an app available for Android and Apple platforms. Funds should be deposited before 8pm Monday to fund the week’s commissary order.

Visitation Hours

Visits last 30 minutes and are provided on a first come, first serve basis. Visitors should arrive 15 minutes early to complete paperwork and security checks. General population detainees may be visited on Wednesdays and Sundays 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Civil Detainees may be visited Saturdays 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Detainees are only allowed one visit per day. Visitors 16 years of age and older must have a valid photo ID and fill out a Visitor Questionnaire. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No personal property is allowed in the visiting area, aside from car keys and ID.

The office’s administrative hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm.

Ste. Genevieve covers 507 square miles in eastern Missouri and shares a border with Illinois. At the 2020 census, the population was 18,479. The largest city and county seat is Sainte Genevieve. The county was the earliest settlement west of the Mississippi River outside New Spain and was a French colonial valley village. It is one of the last places where Paw Paw French is spoken.
