The current jail roster is available online. Information provided includes inmates’ full names and identifying details. Mugshots are not available in this roster. There is also a roster of those booked into the jail between 7am and 7pm during a specific timeframe. These profiles include inmates’ names, identifying details, arrest, booking, and case information, and mugshots.

How to Send Mail or Package

Boone County jail is a post card only facility. Inmates may receive standard white postcards no larger than 5” x 7”. The sender’s full name and mailing address must be included on the card. Stamps will be removed before mail is delivered to inmates. Postcards should be addressed as follows:

Inmates may receive paperback books, religious books, up to 2 magazine subscriptions, and newspaper subscriptions.

Funds may be added to inmates’ commissary accounts at a kiosk in the jail lobby, which accepts cash and credit/debit cards, or online at the JailATM website.

Visitation Hours

Onsite noncontact visitation and video visitation are both available at Boone County jail. Each inmate is allowed one onsite visit per week, which can be attended by one visitor. The schedule for this visitation is arranged by gender and the first letter of inmates’ last names. Visits may be held on Monday for those with names beginning in A-B; Tuesday for C-F; Wednesday for G-J, Thursday for K-M, Friday for N-R, and Saturday for S-Z. Detainee workers may be visited on Sundays. The times for visits with male inmates is 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM and 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM. Female visitation is held from 9:45 AM – 10:45 AM and 8:45 PM – 9:45 PM.

In 2021, remote video visitation was added. It is operated by JailATM. Visits must be scheduled via their website 24 hours in advance. Each inmate may have two 15-minute video visits per day. Visits cost $.30 per minute. Visits may be scheduled from 8am to 10:45 am, 1pm to 4:30pm, and 7pm to 11pm.
