How to Send Mail or Package

Only standard white postcards are accepted as personal mail to inmates. They should be no larger than 5×7”, include the sender’s full name and return address, and include no foreign substances, labels, or stickers. They should be addressed to:

Money may be added to inmates’ accounts at a kiosk in the Sheriff’s lobby, online at the Access Corrections website, or by calling (866) 345-1884.

Visitation Hours

All communication, including video visitation, is handled via Securus. They may be reached online, through their Android or iPhone apps, or by phone at (800) 844-6591. To set up a visitation account, visitors must have a photo ID and a photo of themselves.

Cape Girardeau County Sheriff Information

The county jail is operated and maintained by the local Sheriff’s department. The current Sheriff is Ruth Ann Dickerson and the Chief Deputy is Eric Friedrich. The office’s administrative hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm.
