How to Send Mail or Package

Personal mail to inmates must be in the form of a standard postcard. To send pictures, write “pictures” on the outside of the envelope and include no other enclosures (i.e. letters, etc). Mail should be addressed as follows:

Stellar Services operates the jail’s commissary, as well as email service and video chat. To make deposits to inmates’ commissary accounts or order commissary packages to be shipped directly to the jail, go to their website.

Visitation Hours

Visitation is held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Inmates are allowed one 20 minute visit per weekend. Up to two visitors may attend, but must split the 20 minutes. All visitors must be at least 18 years of age. Visits should be scheduled 24 hours in advance. No personal items, such as cell phones, photographs, books, etc., are allowed in the visitation booth.

Nodaway County Sheriff Information

The county jail is operated by the local Sheriff’s Office. The current Sheriff is Randy Strong. The building is located in the basement of the Administration Building directly behind the jail. The office’s administrative hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.
