The law requires each government office to employ a custodian of records responsible for responding to public records requests. Requests may be made in any format (i.e. in person, over the phone, or by mail, email, or fax), but written requests are typically preferred. Requests should describe the records sought in as much detail as possible (include relevant names, dates, locations, etc) and provide contact information for the person making the request.
