The Iron County jail is the oldest jail in Missouri, dating to 1867. It was expanded in 1978. In 2023, it was approved for a $2 million renovation. Inmates will be temporarily removed during the renovation.

How to Send Package

Commissary packages may be ordered and purchased online, then shipped directly to inmates. Tiger Commissary operates this service. Register for an account on their website, then select the state, facility, and inmate who is to receive the package.

Iron County Sheriff Information

The Iron County jail is operated by the local Sheriff’s Office. In January 2024, Sheriff Jeff Burkett resigned. Two deputies, Chase Brensnahan and Matthew Cozad, also resigned.

Requests should describe the records in as much detail as possible, including relevant names, dates, locations, etc. They should also provide contact information for the person making the request.
